Irrigation

Irrigation is essential to realise the full potential of French truffle production. We can provide irrigation requirements and details of scheduling as required.

We work with local irrigation suppliers in each district we have established trufferies on the design of the most cost effective irrigation system.

Every soil where we are growing truffles has different characteristics with respect to moisture level retention rates.

There are critical times in the lifecycle of the truffle where the correct soil moisture levels are essential.

During the 2008 irrigation season we made adjustments to the irrigation scheduling of a number of the trufferies we advise on which resulted in significant increases in truffle production in 2009.
