Duncan Garvey and Peter Cooper established Perigord Truffles of Tasmania (Perigord). The Tasmanian Enterprise Workshop awarded Perigord’s business plan for the best product.

1993

Establishment of Tasmania's first truffières.

1993

Perigord awarded a three-year research grant from the Rural Industries Research and Development Corporation (RIRDC) which has been recently been extended for an additional two years bringing the total research funding to $250,000.

1994

Commenced supplying imported fresh French truffles to Australia's finest restaurants.

1999

Perigord harvest Australia’s first French black truffle.

2000

Perigord market the first home grown French Black Truffles to Claudes Restaurant, Sydney.

2000

Perigord wins National Business Award.

2001

Perigord is awarded a Jaguar/Gourmet Traveler award for excellence in primary production.

2001

First truffières established in the colder regions on NSW and Victoria.

2005

First production in Yarra Valley, Victoria and Blayney district of NSW on 3-4 year old trees.

2005

Perigord is awarded a 2005 Vogue Produce Award.

2006

Perigord export first truffles to Japan and Europe.

2008

Truffles launched into Hong Kong and Macau restaurants.

2009 Significant increase in truffle production. New export markets developed.
2010 Further increase in plantings and truffle production
2011 Development of truffle products
